Today many data processing systems for gamma cameras have either become unserviceable for technical reasons or gone out of date. In recent years new systems with corresponding software have been developed. Also many diagnosticians have developed their own requirements and approaches to data processing in nuclear medicine imaging. This is caused by the need to have precise metric measurement of images of the scanned organs, to improve the visual display of separate parts of the organ images, to obtain additional measures that may be necessary for accurate diagnostic decision.
It should be mentioned that in certain cases many users would not need the whole package of the expensive software, but will only do with the small part of it. This may be explained by individual requirements or specific field of studies which a certain nuclear imaging laboratory may have (for example there may be no need to perform cardiac imaging) or by the lack of certain radiopharmaceuticals.
This innovative approach to the development of new data processing system provides solution that meets any of these challenges.
  1. The system may be supplied with new ADC, PC and software package as the replacement of previously used system that had become broken.
  2. The currently used data processing system may be supplemented with additional pre-developed software tested in other nuclear imaging laboratories.
  3. At request new tailor-made software may be developed to meet individual requirements of every customer.
Such system enables to effectively use new data processing methods based on specific requirements and possibilities of each particular customer. It also allows continuous software updating and helps to save costs.
